Ray Straatsma Advocacy Coordinator

Ray has been an educator, advocate, and policy analyst for sustainable and active transportation in Canadian cities for over two decades. As both staff and board member, Ray has worked with Better Environmentally Sound Transportation (BEST), the Greater Victoria Cycling Coalition, and the BC Cycling Coalition. He is currently chair of the Greater Victoria Placemaking Network, and teaches urban transportation in the Geography Department at University of Victoria. Ray is also the principal consultant at RStreets Urban Strategies, providing specialized services in communications, project management, research and policy analysis for urban planning, transportation and healthy community initiatives.
